The big W111 series of Mercedes-Benz Coupe has an enviable reputation as one of the all-time greats. These were beautifully made and exquisitely fitted out. The elegance of the pillarless design, with tremendous balance and style remains highly desirable today.

This 250SE had a larger capacity 6-cylinder motor than its predecessor. Built from August 1965 to December 1967, just 235 were right hand drive. It is believed that 86 were delivered in Australia. It was the third most expensive car when new.

Finished in Dark Blue (DB332) with Light Grey leather upholstery (207) this car certainly presents very nicely – the dark paintwork making the car’s brightwork stand out well. The car has the desirable “California” headlight fitment. It has the optional white steering wheel and the tray between the front seats (with removable cushion).

The car was bought for the daughter of the owner twenty-one years ago. In late 2015 it was stripped and repainted – with all new rubber seals. At the same time, the suspension was rebuilt – all at a cost of $59,770. The owner did not retain records of other work done on the car, but its fine condition speaks for itself.

The paintwork gleams today and the car certainly looks impressive. The interior is in good condition too. The extensive chrome hardware and polished woodwork are excellent. The grey leather upholstery with blue carpet suits the car very well.

Since the car has returned to Perth, it was prepared for WA registration – and passed without issue. The car has since been serviced with oil changes twice, documentation for which is with the car. The odometer shows just over 94,600 miles.

This car is very realistically priced, representing tremendous value in a very usable, high quality, exclusive and glamorous classic.
