This is one of the most special cars of its era in Perth.

The 3500GT was launched at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, to great acclaim. The stylish bodywork was by Carrozzeria Touring. With a powerful 3.5-litre twin camshaft engine, wearing triple twin-choke Weber carburettors, the 3500GT was among the world’s fastest cars.

In 1961 Maserati built 448 3500GTs, this car among them. Changes along the years of production included adding a 5-speed ZF gearbox and disc brakes, both of which are features of this car for sale in Perth.

The bodywork was up-to-the-minute chic, elegant and stylish. It is a shape which was immediately adored and has stood the test of time exceptionally well. It’s a beautifully balanced design.

This car was delivered new in England. It was imported to Melbourne when relatively new. In the 1980s was owned by high-profile collector Stuart Anderson in Melbourne. Thirty three years ago the car was sold to Western Australia where it has remained ever since.

In 2012 major work was undertaken on the car, handled by a well-respected restorer. Every aspect of the motor was rebuilt, the gearbox, clutch, cooling system, brakes and suspension all receiving attention.

The 3500GT presents extremely very well inside and out. The paintwork is excellent and panel gaps are tight. The Maserati’s ‘jewellery’, stylized badges, chrome highlights, delicate boot handles and vents add to the elegance of this car

Inside, the upholstery and hardware are all very good. The interior of this Maserati has an ambience that makes you feel very special.

Most recently the Maserati was serviced and tuned last year. The engine compression was checked and all cylinders were all even. It runs beautifully when warmed-up and has a nice growl to the exhaust system.
