An exceptionally practical and economical car, the Panda is a brilliant compact car.

This car is quite high specification, featuring the turbocharged-twin engine, Dualogic transmission and optional alloy wheels. It features power steering, effective air conditioning, power windows, remote central locking, power mirrors, parking sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, 6 airbags, cupholders galore and more.

The 2-cylinder turbo engine is enormously economical – these offered the best fuel consumption of any car in Australia when new – yet has more power than the bigger 4-cylinder engine available, giving quite spritely performance.

Recent work includes fitment of a new expansion reservoir, two new Pirelli tyres on the front (rears had been renewed just before we bought the car), new clutch and flywheel, plus other minor items such as suspension bushes as well as an oil change this year.

We’ve enjoyed the Panda, used it in club events, displayed it at Italian Car Day displays and today it has covered 222,000km. Registered to June. It’s been a cherished car, but changes mean it has to go…
