1953 Citroen Light 15 project – SOLD

Citroen’s Traction Avant model was a world leader in design, construction and driving characteristics.

The most popular version was known in English speaking markets as the Light 15. Citroen’s factory in Slough, UK produced the car, in a slightly different version to the French cars. This car is a British-built example. As a late model, it has the larger and more useful boot.

This car was sold new in British Malaya – Malaysia today – first registered on April 9 1953. Original registration documents with the car chart its history of ownerships before the last owner bought the car 44 years ago. He shipped it to Perth along with several other vehicles in 1982.

In April 1982 the car was licensed in Perth. The owner had several classic vehicles and the Citroen saw limited use but was enjoyed by the family. Its registration expired in 2000 and the car has sat in dry storage ever since, for the last 25 years.

The car is complete and straight, appears to be rust-free but in need of attention having sat for so long untouched. In particular the mechanicals should be looked at.

These are very rewarding cars and excellent support in the way of parts and clubs exist for the Light 15.
