FOR SALE: 1951 MG TD 1250 – $57,000 Reduced: $49,500

The TD was the first post-war MG sports car which saw modernization of its pre-war design. As well as technical improvements, the TD boasted a more spacious cockpit than previous models.

With its overhead valve motor with twin carburettors, the MG TD 1250 was considered a spritely sports car in its day.

The earliest history of this car is not known, however the car had been with one Perth owner for more than 40 years – and the car was comprehensively restored not long before its long-term passed away. Following this, unfortunately, his wife threw away all the invoices of the restoration(!). But it is evident on inspection that every element of the car was restored, and to a high quality.

It spent the following decade in a collection, seldom being used and recently changed hands again.

It’s been through a comprehensive recommission by a Rolls-Royce-Bentley specialist company, with all necessary work done after its slumber. It has just passed a registration inspection, so a buyer can be confident it’s all good to go. It is presently on club license.

The pictures don’t show well enough how immaculate this car is throughout. The brightwork, trim, wet weather gear, internal and external hardware are all excellent and present impressively. It’s like a new car underneath.
