1983 Jaguar XJS HE V12 – SOLD

Jaguar’s glamorous XJS brought a new Grand Touring style of motoring to the company after the sportier E-Type. Featuring a glorious 5.3-litre V12 engine, the car made a wonderful long distance cruiser. The flamboyant styling of the XJS has come of age in the last few years and demand for the XJS as a classic has increased.

The owner of this XJS bought the car in Victoria from an exotic car specialist dealer and had it shipped to WA. After arrival, it went through licensing inspection without any problems.

An Australian delivered car, while there is an original handbook with it, there are no early service records. It’s clear though on looking through the car that it’s been a cherished XJS.

Recent work undertaken by the current owner includes attention to the cooling system, with new temperature sensors and re-cored radiator, the air conditioning serviced and new handbrake pads installed. A small power steering leak was attended to and the car tuned. It runs smoothly – as the V12 is famous for. The odometer shows 191,000km.

The XJS is a very usable classic, having niceties such as power steering and air conditioning. The interior is very comfortable, backed-up by Jaguar’s famous excellent ride quality. This is certainly a well-presented, lovely driving example of the breed, and is well-priced.
