CONSIGNING YOUR CAR

Paul has developed a unique process for marketing classic cars. His promotion is seen worldwide and sales resulting to buyers in locations around the globe, though naturally, mostly around Australia.

Paul works closely with other reputable brokers, classic car dealers and auction houses around Australia to achieve the best outcomes.

If you have a look at the SOLD page, you’ll see the variety of cars Paul has successfully sold for clients.

By consigning your car to Paul to sell, you can avoid the hassles of time-wasters and test pilots and have an effective campaign to promote your car to its target market.

Advertising is done by various media – electronic and print – and some cars are sold to clients without being advertised.

You hold onto your car until payment has cleared direct into your bank account from the buyer, so the process is risk-free for sellers. There are no up-front costs.

Paul has a motor vehicle dealer license to work as a broker and is bound by strict professional regulations.

Cars that have already been advertised elsewhere won’t be consigned. I require exclusivity on selling the car.

SOURCING CARS

Looking for something special? Paul Blank has helped many collectors to find specific vehicles they’re after. Whether it’s expanding a collection or your first classic, advice and sourcing suitable cars is something we’re keen to help with. Our contacts around the world can help find just the right car.

VALUATIONS

Paul offers services as a Valuer for motor vehicles. This can be for many purposes – insurance, self-managed superannuation funds, estates, divorces, legal cases, donations, etc. He has many years of experience in this field.

The Valuations are detailed with research and comparisons included.

The cost of the Valuation varies dependent on the number of vehicles, if travel is involved, format required, etc.

Since 1999 Paul has been an approved Valuer for the Federal Government’s Cultural Gifts Program for vehicles and automobilia, with his clients including most major museums in Australia. Only three people in Australia are have this approval for valuing motorcars. This system allows individuals to donate vehicles to institutions and have a tax deduction for the full value. Please ask if this interests you.

Valuation clients include:

DECEASED ESTATES

Over the years Paul has helped many collectors and their families move-on classic cars and collectable items, often from Deceased Estates. Sometimes families don’t know what to do, so cars and items of automobilia get given to unappreciative people, sold cheap or worse, thrown away…

He has excellent specialist contacts throughout Australia who can assist in ensuring that your collection goes to the right people or institutions, and that the best price is achieved when an item is saleable.

Paul works with car museums and specialist auction houses around Australia and is a licensed classic car broker. If you have old photos, model cars, books and other memorabilia as well as classic cars, please keep Paul’s contact details or give them to your family for when your cherished items need new homes.

CONCESSIONAL LICENSING

Club licensing is available for older vehicles in WA and offers considerable savings in annual fees and stamp duty. Paul Blank was the Secretary of the CMC Technical Committee for 17 years, liaising with the Department of Transport and having edited the latest version of the Code 404 Handbook. Feel free to ask details if club licensing might suit the car you’re considering purchasing.

TESTIMONIALS

“Thank You for assisting me with the sale of my classic Mercedes this week. You made the experience ridiculously easy for me.

I was most impressed with the way you promptly visited my warehouse and inspected the vehicle. Your depth of knowledge of all things motoring is astounding and you were able to arrive at price that was agreeable to me and would meet the market. Whist most people on the seller’s side of an exchange have an over-inflated view of what these things should be worth, I have a realistic approach and know that the buyer would see it differently. Like I mentioned at the time, I don’t use the car enough and it was time to move.

It seemed like the advertisement was just posted and the prospective motoring enthusiasts were alerted and showing interest in now time. Your description of my cherished Mercedes was true and factual and very descriptive, giving anyone viewing it a full understanding of what was on offer. We can happily leave the poetic licence for the Arthur Daleys of the world.

Luckily, we only have two tiny imperfections with this car and you were of the opinion to be honest and up-front and you added those into your description. I like your style and approach with handling someone’s “pride and joy”.

Equally impressive is when it came to the actual sale, I was out of town and you handled the new owner perfectly and completed the transaction. This gentleman will have a new classic car in his possession and enjoy many years with this Mercedes.

Once again Paul, thank you for your attention to detail and your professionalism.

Warm regards, Richard Wilson

A short note to thank you for getting my car sold to probably the most difficult buyer in Australia.

You persevered, held the negotiated price (more than my bottom number), found a solution to the unreasonable buyer demands, and closed the deal.

Thank you. Till the next sale!

Paul is the foremost authority on the classic car market in Australia and a pleasure to deal with. Paul helped to find a suitable buyer for my 1977 BMW 528i and both parties were very happy with the result. He also facilitated the purchase of my 1979 911 and was very helpful throughout the sale. His countless hours of volunteer work coordinating events like Classic Cars and Coffee and Celebration of the Motorcar demonstrate just how valuable he is to the WA classic car community. Highly recommended!
